We First 5: Airbnb Community, COP21, and Super Moon Monday

1. Airbnb’s Commitment to Community

Coinciding with the week’s festivities, Airbnb launches a powerful spot around community commitment – bringing to life their platform, Belong Anywhere. It is a fresh, inspiring and emotive side of the brand we are seeing – a beautiful demonstration of purpose-driven storytelling.

2. Howard Schultz’s “The Promise of America”

Ahead of Tuesday’s polls, Starbucks chairman and CEO Howard Schultz delivered a message to all Starbucks partners. A culturally vocal leader, Schultz reinforces the company’s commitment to Shared Planet, and valuing employees as key stakeholders to company success. Read the message here.

3. #GivingTuesday, November 29th

Coming up on the heels of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday will takeover November 29th for its fifth year running. As a precursor to the holiday season where individuals and companies direct much of their philanthropic efforts, #GivingTuesday is becoming a global cultural movement where leading brands and companies are taking voice. There’s still time to plan your own #GivingTuesday activity – download the toolkit here.

4. COP21 Cop out

On the first day post-electoral results, incoming American President Donald Trump has announced a desire to step away from the highly progressive, revolutionary Paris Climate Agreement. Now, more than ever, business needs to lead the conversation around this critical debate. Read more.

5. Super Moon Monday

This coming Monday, 14 November will mark the biggest and brightest moon we’ve seen in 60 years. Take a break, get outside, and be in awe at this natural wonder. Mark your calendar!
